About Zurich Instruments

Zurich Instruments is a company founded in 2008 as an ETH Zurich spin-off with its headquarters at Technopark Zurich, and has been part of the Rohde & Schwarz Group since 2021. The company develops and markets measurement and test instruments for dynamic signal analysis, including lock-in amplifiers from DC to 8.5 GHz, impedance analyzers, phase-locked loops, digitizers, boxcar averagers, and arbitrary waveform generators. Since 2016, the company has also been developing instrumentation for quantum computers; in 2018, the first Quantum Computing Control System (QCCS) with HDAWG, UHFQA, and PQSC was commercialized, with its second generation scaling up to 448 channels. All instruments are operated via the platform-independent control software LabOne with a web UI and APIs. Customers are academic and industrial research and development institutions in fields such as quantum technologies, optics & photonics, scanning probe microscopy, nanotechnology, sensors, semiconductors, bioengineering, and electrochemistry. In addition to its headquarters in Zurich, the company maintains subsidiaries in Shanghai and Boston.
