About ZfA Iserlohn
The Zweckverband für Abfallbeseitigung Iserlohn (ZfA) is a public-law corporation and, as the public-law waste management authority, is responsible for the collection and transport of household waste in seven cities and municipalities in the Märkischer Kreis district: Altena, Balve, Iserlohn, Menden, Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde, Plettenberg and Werdohl. Its tasks include the collection of residual waste, lightweight packaging, waste paper, waste glass, bulky waste, green waste and electrical waste, complemented by a dense network of public container sites and a mobile hazardous waste collection service. The ZfA operates four drop-off centers (Bringhöfe) in Iserlohn, Letmathe, Menden and Werdohl with a list of around 25 accepted waste types. The collected waste is delivered to the Iserlohn waste-to-energy plant in accordance with the requirements of the Märkischer Kreis. The association is organized as a Zweckverband (special-purpose association) with an association assembly in which all member municipalities are represented. The administration is located in the Corunna industrial park in Iserlohn.
