About a.p.f Aqua System AG
a.p.f Aqua System AG, based in Wuppertal, is dedicated to the further development of the disinfectant chlorine dioxide and develops water treatment concepts based on it. Using a patented process (PCT/EP2011/006510), the company produces the high-purity, storage-stable aqueous chlorine dioxide solution Clorious2 (DIN EN 12671) from sodium chlorite (DIN EN 938) and sodium peroxydisulfate (DIN EN 12926), and manufactures continuously operating chlorine dioxide generators (Clorious2-60/-300/-1200) made of HDPE. The offering is complemented by consulting on process water treatment, optimization of process hygiene, design of sampling systems, metering pumps and gas scrubbers, as well as instrumentation and control technology for remote monitoring of process parameters based on M2M technology. Fields of application include drinking and process water treatment, the automotive industry, electroplating, food production and cooling water conditioning. The company emerged from the studies of Haitian merchant Alix Pierre Fouchard, has carried his initials in its name since 2003, and cooperates with scientific institutions such as the University of Wuppertal.

Processes & Chemicals
Chlorine dioxide (DIN EN 12671)
Oxidizing and disinfecting agent that is effective in the pH range 2–10, does not react with ammonium, and does not form chlorine-containing by-products.
Sodium chlorite (DIN EN 938)
Starting material of the patented manufacturing process for the aqueous chlorine dioxide solution.
Sodium peroxydisulfate (DIN EN 12926)
Oxidizing agent as the second starting material of the modified chlorite/persulfate process.
HDPE
Resistant plastic material of the pressureless ClO2 generator.

Quality & Safety
The generators feature multiple safety measures: a double-walled temperature-controlled reactor, a chlorine dioxide gas sensor (Dr. Kuntze K 100 GAS), a leak sensor, redox monitoring and a catchment tray. The transport and storage containers of Clorious2 have approval certificates from the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (D/BAM 14378/6HA1 // D/BAM 14490/6HA1).
