About us
The Carbon-Factory Michael Austermann is a manufactory in Rietberg (NRW) specialising in the carbon refinement of components with real carbon. The carbon fabric is applied by hand and impregnated with UV-stabilised resins; this is followed by grinding, sandblasting and multi-layer painting in glossy or matt finish in two heated paint booths. Production takes place in a proprietary process system as one-off pieces or small series – predominantly for vehicle parts (interior and exterior) in the premium segment, components for motorcycles as well as living and furnishing objects. Customers include, among others, JURA, for whom series components were processed over more than three years, as well as broadcast-solutions GmbH; according to user reports, the manufactory also works for automobile manufacturers on design studies and show vehicles. Before delivery, every component is inspected for surface, depth effect and fit.

Materials and Processes
Carbon (carbon fabric, visible carbon)
Base material for refinement; thousands of individual filaments in woven form form the basis of the processing.
UV-stabilised resins
For impregnating the hand-applied carbon fabric so that the components retain their colour depth.
Paint (UV-stabilised)
For the multi-layer sealing in glossy or matt finish.
