DAKO AG, headquartered in Wiesentheid (Lower Franconia), is a long-established, recognized supplier and manufacturer of specialty components for the lubricant industry as well as specialty lubricants for synthetic fiber production. Building on this basis, the company has developed a product family of cis-Omega-9 oleic acid and derivatives under the protected name NONAMEG. The oleic acid is produced at the company's own plant in Lower Franconia from regional, renewable raw materials (GMO-free, PO/PKO-free) in a biological low-temperature process and is available in industrial volumes with purities of at least 90 %. The mild process conditions prevent oxidative pre-damage of the fatty acid; the derivatives (esters, emulsifiers, triglycerides) are produced in the company's own facilities using proprietary processes at low reaction temperatures. The products serve as components for hydraulic oils, gear oils, transformer and heat transfer oils, rolling and forming oils, metalworking fluids, corrosion protection as well as applications in wood and paint care, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, paints and printing inks, rubber and plastics, and microelectronics/semiconductors.
