About Gelso AG / step2real

Gelso AG, headquartered in Regensdorf, was founded in 1996 and has since been active in the production and delivery of drawing parts for the German-speaking mechanical engineering industry. With the step2real platform, the company has digitized part of its business process: customers upload a STEP file, immediately receive a parts cost calculation based on concrete cost parameters of verified production partners, and can request a binding quotation with one click. Sheet metal parts, milled parts, turned parts and closed profiles are calculated automatically; welding and assembly work, bulk material and purchased parts are calculated manually by the technician team. Heat treatment (hardening, annealing, tempering) and surface treatment including glass bead and ceramic blasting are offered as calculable additional processes. Customers include developers and buyers from mechanical and plant engineering as well as mechatronics; delivery of 3.1 material inspection certificates is possible.

Processes and Services

BLECH

Sheet metal parts

Automatically calculated sheet metal parts based on weight, cutting simulation, number of bends, tolerance class and surface treatment.

FRÄS

Milled parts

Automatically calculated milled parts based on weight, milling/turning time simulation and the selected tolerance class.

DREH

Turned parts

Automatically calculated turned parts with raw material costs by weight and simulated machining time.

PROFIL

Closed profiles

Automatically calculable closed profile parts, integrated into the platform since 2021.

ROHRLASER

Laser-cut tubes

Tube parts from manual laser cutting are calculated as a separate material group.

SCHWEISS

Welded assemblies

Welding work is calculated and accompanied manually by the technician team.

MONTAGE

Assembly

Assembly work is calculated manually, as a step toward fully calculable mechatronic assemblies.

GB

Glass bead blasting

Surface finish optionally selectable, among other things for stainless steel components.

KER

Ceramic blasting

Surface finish optionally selectable, among other things for stainless steel components.

WBH

Heat treatment (hardening, annealing, tempering)

Integrated into the calculation as a calculable process since Release 7.

ZUKAUF

Purchased parts

Components such as bearings, sensors or drive elements are calculated and/or procured manually.
