About KASTENS & KNAUER
KASTENS & KNAUER is a metal distribution company founded in 1977, headquartered in Lilienthal near Bremen and today employing more than 80 people at five sites. The company stocks aluminium, brass, gunmetal and stainless steel semi-finished products as well as industrial plastics in its central warehouse in six fully automatic high-bay racking systems with up to 5,000 tonnes of inventory. In its own sawing and cutting center, cut-to-size blanks, rings, discs and waterjet contours are produced; in addition, CNC milling work is carried out to customer drawings. Its own products are the aluminium cast plates CST®, Eloxcast®, Cyclecast® and CST-7X® as well as the double-side milled precision plates KuKPlan® CST-M and KuKPlan® RMT. For aerospace, only approved aluminium and titanium semi-finished products from certified manufacturers are offered. With the Closed-Loop-Recycling Cyclecast®, segregated chips and scrap are recycled into new cast billets. Customers include mechanical engineering, tool and jig making, defence technology, and aerospace.

Quality & Certification
The QM system is based on DIN EN ISO 9001 and EN 9120 (TÜV Nord). In-house testing covers alloy determination by LIPS, tensile specimens, conductivity, surface hardness and roughness; externally, ultrasonic testing up to Class A as well as micro- and macro-etched sections are performed.
