About RETROTIMBER
Retrotimber GmbH was founded in 2013 in Zirl (Tyrol) by Alfred Hanger and, with RETROTIMBER, produces a certified alternative to reclaimed wood. From fresh wood of domestic and Nordic spruce as well as larch, the company manufactures construction timber, squared timber, profiled timber, 3s panels and glulam. In specially designed steaming chambers, the wood is treated with water, heat and time, so that it takes on the look and feel of reclaimed wood while remaining pollutant-free, load-bearing and structurally calculable. The surfaces are available in six finishing variants: hacked, brushed, deep-brushed, planed, saw-raw and worm-finished. On request, the material is machine-processed according to CAD or BVX plans and delivered as a ready-to-assemble kit. Production takes place in a partner network at several sites in Austria and Germany; the headquarters with showroom is located in Zirl. Fields of application include structural timber construction, hospitality, interior design as well as architecture and real estate development. The products are certified by two European Technical Assessments (ETA).
