About SCHEIDEL
SCHEIDEL GmbH & Co. KG is a family business founded in 1949 by Hermann Scheidel in Bamberg, headquartered in Hirschaid (Bavaria), which develops and produces chemical products for removing coatings and protecting surfaces. The product range includes paint strippers and lacquer removers, cleaners and thinners, graffiti removers based on the two-step principle, as well as impregnations and protective coatings of the graffiti & surface protection system, complemented by the industrial brand sofchem. SCHEIDEL is regarded as a pioneer and leading manufacturer of CFC-free paint strippers: as early as 1984, Europe's first CFC-free paint stripper was presented at the FARBE 84 paint trade fair in Munich. New formulations are developed and tested in the company's own laboratory, supported by research cooperations with universities and institutes; application technology, on-site technical consulting and training are part of the service. The products are used in the painting trade, in construction and building protection, in heritage preservation and in industry; reference objects range from the Semperoper in Dresden and Cologne Cathedral to the Presidential Palace in Taiwan and the Imperial Palace in Beijing. The company is run in its third generation by Oliver Scheidel.

The Scheidel family has been active as entrepreneurs since 1834, from hatmaker and milliner to sales representative to manufacturer of household and construction chemicals.

Foundation of the company by Hermann Scheidel in Bamberg.
