About us
Schiefertafelfabrik Frutigen AG is based at the Lötschbergstrasse 18 site in Frutigen in the Kandertal, where slate has been processed for around a hundred years. The company combines this long-standing slate tradition with the processing of the entire range of natural stones. Kitchen worktops made of slate and granite, fireplaces and stone tables are manufactured, with granite kitchen worktops made to customer specifications. Production begins with imported granite raw slabs from the company's own slab warehouse, which are transported into the production hall by crane and forklift. There, the worktops are cut with laser precision on the milling table, while cutouts for sinks or hobs are machined using templates or CNC programs. Long exposed edges are ground and polished on the edge grinding machine, and details are then finished by hand. After the installation of sinks and kitchen appliances, the worktop is transported and installed on site at the customer, including gluing the slab parts with stone adhesive and jointing with silicone.
