The Company

Schill + Seilacher is a manufacturer of chemical specialties and industrial process additives headquartered in Böblingen. Founded in 1877 and held in trust ownership, the company develops and produces spin finishes for synthetic fibers (staple fibers, filaments, nonwovens), chemicals for the finishing and coating of technical textiles, leather chemicals, additives for paper finishing, rubber additives, silicones, and raw materials and fine chemicals for the cosmetics and care industry. Applications include flame retardancy, hydrophobization, biocides, antistatics, defoamers and odor absorbers. The Böblingen site offers an application laboratory with a roll-to-roll coating line and a pilot-scale powder scattering system over a needle roller. The group employs around 900 staff at six sites in Germany and the USA and supplies industries such as automotive, construction, hygiene, medicine, and the leather, textile, paper and tire industries.
