Schmid & Wezel GmbH is a Swabian family business founded in 1919 and headquartered in Maulbronn, which manufactures highly precise pneumatic and electric power tools for the metalworking industry under the BIAX brand name. The portfolio includes straight grinders, angle grinders, pneumatic spindles, pneumatic screwdrivers, drill deburrers, scrapers, belt sanders and flexible shafts, produced at the Hilsbach plant. A key focus is on individual deburring solutions and automated deburring for workshop and industrial production. The three business divisions BIAX Pneumatic and Electric Power Tools, BIAX Carbide Tools and EFA Butchery Machinery are manufactured at three sites in Germany and Switzerland. Customer industries are primarily the metalworking industry, tool and die making, and the automotive supply industry. The company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and delivers worldwide.
