About SCHUTZZ

SCHUTZZ is a materials technology start-up from Germany with its own proprietary material platform for industrial protective applications. Working in close cooperation with Paderborn University, the company combines scientific materials research with industrial application. The intumescent protective material platform unites properties that were previously considered contradictory: fire protection and corrosion protection without mechanical restrictions. In the event of fire, the material intumesces to form an insulating layer, absorbs mechanical loads, expands elastically along with the component, is chemically resistant to oils, fuels and alkalis, and cures within minutes. Each property is tuned to the respective application. Fields of application include fire protection in construction (e.g. retrofitting of fire walls), safety of battery systems in mobility, and solutions in the dual-use sector. Applications are developed in a six-stage development process from requirements analysis through prototype and validation to series production.
