secty electronics GmbH, based in Castrop-Rauxel (NRW), develops and manufactures electronic system solutions for earthquake monitoring and earthquake early warning. The core product is the patented earthquake early warning system secty lifePatron, which was developed to production readiness in close cooperation with the GeoForschungsZentrum (GFZ) Potsdam. The modular system detects seismic waves using electronic sensors and analysis methods and derives objective key parameters from them for a reliable early warning. The processing of measurement and analysis data is carried out via an electronic energy management system that controls electronic building facilities such as elevators and shuts down energy systems such as natural gas. The systems can be integrated into the building control technology of modern building management. In addition to manufacturing, the specialists plan and engineer individual system solutions for the private as well as the commercial-industrial sector. The functionality of the lifePatron has been proven in extensive tests at the GFZ and during real earthquakes; among other things, a system at the German School in Santiago de Chile issued an alarm 30 seconds before the earthquake of February 27, 2010.
