About SEMCO
Semcoglas Holding GmbH is a European group for flat glass production and finishing with around 1.800 employees and 23 locations in Germany and Denmark. The group manufactures functional insulating glass (climate glass, thermal insulation glass, solar control glass, acoustic insulation glass), safety glass (ESG, TVG, ESG-H, VSG), curved glass, enamelled and printed facade panels, as well as glass design products such as glass doors, partitions, kitchen splashbacks and full-glass showers – partly in lot size 1. The value chain includes its own glass coating plant in Neubrandenburg, a float glass plant as a joint venture (EUROGLAS Osterweddingen) and specialised plants for safety glass, insulating glass and glass bending. Customers come from window and facade construction, architectural glass, interiors and the glass wholesale trade. The group was founded in 1977 as a glass centre in Westerstede and continues to operate its headquarters there.

Materials & Processes
Float glass
Base glass for all insulating, safety and functional glass builds; own supply via the joint-venture float glass plant in Osterweddingen.
Toughened safety glass ESG
Thermally toughened glass with increased impact and bending strength and injury protection on breakage.
ESG-H (heat soak, DIN EN 14179)
Heat-soak-tested toughened safety glass to reduce spontaneous breakage (nickel sulfide inclusions).
Heat-strengthened glass TVG
Heat-strengthened glass for builds with a defined breakage pattern, e.g. combined in insulating glass.
Laminated safety glass VSG
Laminate of glass and PVB film under pressure and temperature; up to 4.500 × 2.440 mm, also as burglary resistance P6B/P7B.
SentryGlas® interlayer
Stiff interlayer film for large-format, load-bearing safety glazing; SEMCO is a certified SentryGlas processor.
PVB film
Interlayer film in VSG builds, also as Vanceva colour films for coloured glass.
Argon/krypton noble gas filling
Gas filling of the cavity between the panes for low Ug values in thermal insulation and climate glass.
Warm-edge spacer (TGI, Spacer BL, Chromatech Ultra)
Thermoplastic spacers to reduce the thermal bridge at the glass edge.
Ceramic screen printing inks / enamel
Fired in during the toughening process for facade panels (SEMCO COLOR/DESIGN) and alarm glass; colours according to RAL, NCS, Pantone and others.
