About SepSolve Analytical
SepSolve Analytical Ltd was founded in 2016 in Peterborough (UK) and specialises in gas chromatography (GC) and two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC). The company offers complete analytical workflows from sample preparation — thermal desorption, sorptive extraction, solid-phase microextraction, headspace and sample preparation robots — through separation with GCxGC flow modulators and Hyper-Fast GC to detection with time-of-flight mass spectrometers (BenchTOF2) and evaluation software including chemometrics. In 2025, HyperChrom GC technology (Hyper-Fast GC with flow-field thermal gradient, developed by Dr Peter Boeker, University of Bonn) was integrated into the portfolio. In addition to hardware and software, SepSolve provides consulting on engineering, sampling techniques and method development, as well as training, webinars and global technical support. Its customers are analytical laboratories worldwide, including automotive and food manufacturers as well as governmental environmental protection agencies. The sites in Peterborough (UK), Offenbach am Main (Germany) and Kitchener/Waterloo (Canada) are equipped with modern GC and GCxGC instrumentation for sample preparation and detection and serve application development and product demonstrations. SepSolve is part of the Velaris group of companies.

Techniques & Processes
Gas chromatography (GC)
Core technique for the separation of volatile and semi-volatile compounds.
GCxGC (2D GC)
Two-dimensional separation with the INSIGHT flow modulator for routine and discovery analyses.
Hyper-Fast GC (HyperChrom, flow-field thermal gradient)
Direct resistive heating instead of a GC oven for separations in seconds with run times up to 50× shorter.
Time-of-flight mass spectrometry
BenchTOF2 delivers full, high-quality spectra for confident identification.
Thermal desorption
Sampling and concentration of volatile compounds prior to GC.
Solid-phase microextraction / sorptive extraction
Extraction and enrichment techniques for sample preparation.
Headspace
Analysis of volatile components from the gas phase above the sample.
Olfactory Detection Port (Phaser Pro)
Parallel olfactory assessment of separations by the human nose.
