About Smawatec

SMAWATEC is a German company specialized in smart water damage prevention. The core product, the Flowstopper, is an intelligent inline shut-off valve installed directly on the main water inlet of a building. The device detects even small leaks with a flow rate of less than 100 ml per minute as well as pipe bursts based on unusually high flow rates, and automatically closes the valve when anomalies are detected. 24/7 monitoring and remote control are possible via an app; the protection rules are stored locally on the device, so protection continues to work even without WLAN and during power outages thanks to an integrated backup battery (2–3 days). The system is GDPR-compliant, encrypted, and contributes to BREEAM and LEED certifications in Green Building. Areas of application include private households, hotels, gastronomy, shopping centers, construction sites, warehouse locations, and property management.
