About Softcar
SOFTCAR SA is a Swiss vehicle developer and manufacturer headquartered in Fribourg that develops ultra-light electric and hybrid vehicles (gas and electricity) designed from the ground up for the circular economy. The urban electric vehicle Softcar was developed under CEO Jean-Luc Thuliez with the goal of minimizing weight, energy consumption and environmental impact over the entire life cycle. In addition to the vehicle, the company offers product licenses, turnkey microfactories including the setup of assembly centers, and a partner program for entrepreneurs and investors to multiply local vehicle production in cities worldwide. The value chain includes design, calculation and simulation (CAO, CFAO, PLM, MES, ERP) as well as injection molding and molding know-how with contract manufacturing for plastics, rubber and composites; steel and aluminum sheet metal are used in vehicle construction. The company was founded in 2011 and builds on more than 30 years of vehicle development by its founder, including Swatch Volkswagen, MCC Smart and Cree.
