About the St. Elisabeth-Stiftung
The St. Elisabeth-Stiftung, based in Bad Waldsee, was founded in 1999 by the Franciscan Sisters of Reute, who had previously shaped charitable work in Upper Swabia for around 150 years. The foundation continues the social work of the religious order under secular foundation management; the Franciscan Sisters remain represented on the Foundation Council. The range of services includes workshops for people with disabilities (support and care section, vocational training section, job coaching), housing for people with disabilities, residential options for seniors, outpatient care services, hospices, kindergartens and a school, as well as interdisciplinary early intervention centres and a Social Paediatric Centre. Its own commercial enterprises such as the central kitchen, the carpentry workshop and the Klostermetzgerei Reute butchery offer products and services. The foundation is not a supplier to mechanical or industrial plant engineering, but a provider of social services and socially responsible contract manufacturing and services in the region between Stuttgart, Ulm and Lake Constance.
