Who we are
SÜDMETALL Otto Leonhard GmbH is a medium-sized family business in its fourth generation, headquartered in Maisach near Munich. The company operates a wholesale business for plumbing supplies, roofing materials and accessories for roofers, plumbers (spenglers) and carpenters, with more than 5,000 stock items on around 12,000 sqm of warehouse space. In addition to trading, the customer workshop offers cuts up to 3 m in length, folding up to 6 m in length, contract profiling of trapezoidal and corrugated profiles, recoiling of sheet coils in custom lengths, and slitting of sheet coils from 100 mm strip width. Sheets and roof drainage articles are coated in customer-requested colours. The materials include copper, zinc, titanium zinc, stainless steel (V2A, V4A, Uginox), aluminium, brass, galvanised and galvanised-coated steel, as well as lead and plastics such as EPDM. With three locations in Maisach, Munich and Peißenberg, its own fleet of 16 trucks and 2 vans (150 t payload) and more than 80 employees, the company supplies trade businesses throughout Bavaria. Machine rentals, professional training courses, seminar and event rooms as well as metal price fixing are also offered.

Otto Leonhard, previously a sales representative in the ironware trade, starts his first independent business activity.

Otto Leonhard acquires the SÜDMETALL company from Hugo Wertheimer.

Operation at Hiltenspergerstraße in Munich-Schwabing on 700 sqm, specialised in scrap metals, ironware, roofing materials and locksmith supplies.

While Otto Leonhard serves as a soldier in the war, Annemarie Leonhard runs the business.
