About TETRAMAX

TETRAMAX was an EU research project (Horizon 2020 Innovation Action, Grant Agreement 761349) within the Smart Anything Everywhere initiative, coordinated by RWTH Aachen University (Institute for Communication Technologies and Embedded Systems, ICE). The project served as the central point of contact for the digitalization of European SMEs in the field of Customized Low-Energy Computing (CLEC) for Cyber-Physical Systems and IoT. Its core services included EU-wide local helpdesks with individual digitalization consulting, low-risk technology innovation testbeds, a cross-border hardware/software brokerage network with 23 competence centers, and funding of up to 100,000 EUR for Technology Transfer Experiments (TTX) via open calls. In total, 63 TTX were funded from 250 submitted proposals, including with partners such as Nokia Bell Labs. Application areas ranged from automotive and communications to healthcare, manufacturing, smart cities and agriculture. The project was completed in December 2021 with a final rating of 'excellent' by the European Commission.
