About Thüga

Founded in 1867 and headquartered in Munich, Thüga Aktiengesellschaft is the network association and consulting company of the Thüga Group, the largest association of municipal energy and water utilities in Germany. The Group comprises over 100 municipal utilities and regional suppliers from Sylt to the Allgäu and supplies around 4.5 million electricity, 2.0 million gas and 1 million water customers. Thüga itself does not manufacture components; instead, it offers its partner companies more than 150 standardized consulting services across all stages of the energy value chain – from strategy and grid development to procurement, IT solutions and process and data management, through to energy trading, insurance coverage and renewable energy generation from wind and solar. With an annual tendering volume of around one billion euros, the Group forms the largest purchasing association in the German energy industry, including for pipes and meters. In 2025, the Thüga Group generated revenue of around 44.4 billion euros and employed more than 28,500 people; it operates over 13,000 charging points and is one of the largest distribution grid operators in Germany.
