About the Tischler-Innung Ruhr
The Tischler-Innung Ruhr (Ruhr Joiners' Guild) is a public-law corporation headquartered in Bochum and represents the common commercial interests of the joinery and carpentry businesses in Bochum and the Ennepe-Ruhr district. According to its statutes, its field of trade covers the crafts of joinery, wood and structural preservation, installation of standardized prefabricated building components, and funeral services. The guild regulates and monitors apprentice training, conducts intermediate and journeyman examinations, and offers legal advice, further training, courses, and mediation in disputes. Via the marketplace access, the members of the affiliated joinery businesses are offered services such as window and front door manufacturing, interior fitting-out, furniture, kitchen, staircase and conservatory construction in the materials wood, PVC and aluminium. Together with the Kreishandwerkerschaft Ruhr (Ruhr District Craft Association), the guild operates an inter-company training workshop (ÜBL) on Springorumallee in Bochum and organizes the design competition "Die Gute Form" as well as the annual liberation ceremony for the journeywomen and journeymen.
