About TOMRA
TOMRA develops, manufactures and sells sensor-based sorting and collection systems for the circular economy. The Norwegian company, founded in 1972, began with Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) for automated take-back of used beverage containers; over 91,000 of these machines are installed today in more than 60 markets and capture more than 53 billion containers annually. The business segments include Collection, Food with over 16,100 installed sorting and grading units (including Spectrim, TOMRA 5C), Recycling with more than 11,900 systems in 100 countries, and Mining with ore sorting and diamond separation. The systems use camera, laser and AI technologies (LUCAi™, GAINnext™, XCD) to detect colors, shapes, defects and material characteristics. Through the venture platform TOMRA Horizon, complementary business models such as TOMRA Feedstock, TOMRA Reuse and stakes in c-trace and PolyPerception are emerging. In total, around 119,900 installations are in operation in over 100 markets; revenue in 2025 was approximately EUR 1.32 billion.

Materials & Processes
Plastics
Beverage containers, packaging and plastic waste are sorted and processed into high-quality feedstock.
Metals (aluminum and others)
Metal containers and metal scrap are separated using sensor technology and prepared for recycling.
Ores and Minerals
Ore sorting for mining increases yield and reduces downstream processing effort.
Fruit, Vegetables, Nuts
Sensor-based grading and sorting of fresh and processed food minimizes food loss.
