About Trafoexperts
Trafoexperts GmbH is an independent consulting company for power transformers based in Uster, Switzerland. The team of two transformer consultants and one IT specialist supports both transformer manufacturers (OEMs) and operators – from reviewing technical specifications through factory audits, bid evaluation and design analyses with 2D/3D FEA simulations to the supervision of acceptance tests and on-site testing. Further services include DGA and other diagnostics (DGA, FRA, dielectric spectroscopy, PDC), failure analysis, litigation support, seminars, consulting on wind and PV generation transformers and GIC verifications in accordance with IEEE Std C57.163-2015. Customers include international manufacturers such as ABB, Siemens PTD, Hyosung, Toshiba and WEG as well as industrial end users from aluminium smelters and the cable industry. Dr.-Ing. Ugo Piovan received the 2012 IEC 1906 Award for his work on industrial converter transformers.
