About transtec
Transtec Computer AG is a Swiss IT company headquartered in Schindellegi, which emerged from the transtec AG founded in 1980 by Bernhard Bruscha in Tübingen. The transtec AG offered configurable PCs, workstations, servers and storage systems as well as RAID and NAS storage systems, high-performance computing systems and IT services. The company initially supplied the computer market of Digital Equipment Corporation and began building up its own manufacturing from 1987. In 1998, transtec AG went public and entered the telecommunications market; in 2015 it generated revenue of 44.5 million euros with 103 employees. After a failed restructuring attempt, business operations of the German transtec AG were discontinued in 2017; the Transtec Computer AG in Switzerland was acquired by an investor and continues its business activities.
