About Up-Cell
Up-Cell GmbH is a start-up from the environment of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) that manufactures battery storage systems from tested 2nd-life Li-ion cells. The Up-Storage storage systems cover energy contents from 75 to over 1000 kWh and are modular in design: adaptive storage control at cell level and continuous remote monitoring make it possible to monitor the condition of individual cells during ongoing operation and detect deviations at an early stage. Exchangeable cells allow targeted cell replacement instead of replacing the entire system; the system concept additionally includes maintenance and expandability. Alongside manufacturing, the Up-Consulting service accompanies projects from analysis and design through planning and integration to ongoing operation, including monitoring, maintenance, cell replacement, EMS and interface integration as well as consulting on peak shaving, self-consumption optimization and multi-use. Used cells are tested before further processing; manufacturing takes place in Germany.
