About Upco
Upco Srl develops and produces solvent-free transfer film coatings for surfaces in the kitchen and furniture industry, for outdoor furniture, and for high-end interiors, hotels and yachts. Production is located in Gorizia (Italy) within the Coveme plant, which is based on thirty years of experience in processing polyester film with eight production lines. Coating is carried out in a cleanroom in a roll-to-roll process with a maximum coating width of 2250 mm; the end product is delivered in rolls or sheets. The process chain includes corona pre- and post-treatment, heat stabilisation, single- and two-stage coating, matting and ultra-HD texturing as well as UV and e-beam curing. The R&D centre at the German site in Heroldstatt develops new coatings with a focus on mechanical and chemical resistance, hydrolysis and UV resistance, scratch resistance, as well as anti-fingerprint and antimicrobial properties, and has a pilot line with which all industrial processes, including 3D structuring, can be simulated.

Additional services
Quality
All incoming raw materials are inspected, labelled with batch numbers and subjected to an air shower process before entering the cleanroom production area. An in-line surface inspection system monitors the web; in the R&D laboratory in Heroldstatt, the surfaces are tested with state-of-the-art analytical instruments, including for mechanical resistance, hydrolysis resistance, UV resistance and scratch resistance.
