About URBAN SURF SOLUTIONS
URBAN SURF SOLUTIONS was founded in 2018 after its first surfing innovation, UP STREAM SURFING, had matured for the market. The system enables surfing on rivers without any construction measures: a sail connected to the surfer via a bridge provides the necessary propulsion and consumes no external energy whatsoever. In 2018 the company opened its first fixed site in Innsbruck on the Inn, the Airport Reef – a meeting place with surf courses, music, theater and events, based on temporary infrastructure and minimally invasive use. In 2021 the cooperation with Artwave began, whose patented wing structure technology generates waves in lakes, thus enabling wave parks without major construction measures (UP STREAM WAVE). With UP STREAM ENERGY, the company is also pursuing the use of the hydropower of slowly flowing rivers for local electricity generation. The solutions are CO₂-neutral, sustainable, mobile and focus on protecting living organisms in rivers and lakes.
