Valcambi sa, headquartered in Balerna in the Swiss canton of Ticino, is a precious metals refining and manufacturing company that has existed since 1961. The company refines gold, silver, platinum and palladium with a combined annual refining capacity of around 2.000 tonnes. The range of services includes the acceptance and analysis of precious metals (assaying), refining, the production of cast and minted bars, coins, medals, blanks as well as alloys and semi-finished products for the watch and jewellery industry, such as cases, bezels, case backs and bracelet components. In addition, transportation, financing, storage as well as supplier due diligence and traceability (blockchain/SDS) are offered. Customers come from the mining, banking and financial institutions, central banking, watch and jewellery industries as well as recycling. The 3,3-hectare plant site employs 177 staff; the laboratory is METAS-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) and the company has been an ISO-17034-accredited reference material producer since 2024.
