About Visevi Robotics
Visevi Robotics GmbH, based in Munich, develops an entirely camera-based sensor system for robot arms and grippers. The patented technology replaces electronic sensors with low-cost, passive elements such as visual markers and deformable foam structures that are observed by a standard camera. From the image data, image-processing software computes joint angles (up to 7 dof), 6D force and torque signals, and tactile pressure profiles (up to 0.5 MPa). The sensor software simplifies the mechanics, hardware design and wiring of robots and, through continuous auto-calibration, enables the use of low-cost structural parts even for precise manipulation tasks. Fields of application lie in cost-effective automation, service robotics and consumer applications, including delicate gripping, order picking, flexible packaging and process monitoring. Together with Deutsche Bahn (DB mindbox) and the startup Servail, Visevi is also working on a robot platform for non-chemical vegetation control in the track area.
