About Weitzer Parkett
Weitzer Parkett is an Austrian manufacturer of parquet floors and wooden staircases headquartered in Weiz, Styria. Founded in 1831 as a family business, it produces over 2 million m² of parquet annually, including solid parquet, 2-layer engineered parquet and 3-layer click parquet, as well as stair tread claddings made from parquet variations. The company processes domestic woods from Austria and neighbouring countries; since 2009 it has completely avoided tropical woods. Its service portfolio also includes contract drying (50,000 m³/year) and contract steaming (16,000 m³/year). An in-house biomass combined heat and power plant generates heat and electricity from the wood waste produced at the plant and supplies around 1,700 households in Weiz. The company employs 600 staff, generated revenue of 85 million euros in 2021 and exports over 50% of its production.
