About WestfalenWIND
The WestfalenWIND group was founded in 2009 by several experienced wind farm operators and has since been driving the expansion of renewable energies in Westphalia. The mid-sized company with around 180 employees plans wind and photovoltaic projects from new planning through repowering to construction management, manages wind farms both technically and commercially, and maintains installations with its own service teams. The group operates around 120 wind turbines in the region and, with its own wind and PV installations, generates electricity for around 300,000 households annually. In addition, WestfalenWIND Strom GmbH supplies households and businesses with green electricity from 100% renewable energies, offers home and building technology (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing) and operates climate-neutral data centers in wind turbines under the windCORES brand. Broad citizen participation via the BürgerWIND Westfalen eG energy cooperative and social engagement in the region are integral parts of the business model. Locations are Paderborn (company headquarters) and Lichtenau.
