The company was founded in 1948 by Wilhelm Westermann and established itself as a leading manufacturer of film capacitors within just a few years. The product range includes, among others, PET, PP and PPS capacitors in series such as MKS, MKP, FKS and FKP, as well as SMD variants, snubber capacitors, GTO capacitors, DC-link capacitors (DCL) and customer-specific versions. WIMA supplies all professional sectors of the electronics industry worldwide and manufactures exclusively in Germany. In addition, the company offers technical support via a Knowledge Base, sample requests, and access to stock levels through a worldwide distributor network.
