About Winter & Freis
Winter & Freis GmbH & Co. KG develops and produces transport packaging made of wood and wood-based materials at its Kipfenberg site. The product range includes transport crates, wooden pallets, milled parts and cut-to-size components such as inserts for wire mesh containers or holders for body parts, as well as custom special packaging. All packaging is built according to the HPE packaging guidelines and dimensioned with load-bearing capacity calculations for the respective load case. Production covers everything from design through solid wood and panel cutting on high-performance saws and CNC nesting systems to painting in an in-house paint shop; wood drying and IPPC treatment take place in a drying chamber. Packaging is optimised for land, air and sea freight as well as container and truck transport. Customers come from the automotive industry, aerospace and the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr); the spectrum ranges from one-off items and small series to standard products in large volumes.
