XTRA Dynamics is a company founded in 2007 and based in Heilbronn, specializing in electroluminescence (EL) and printed electronics. The company manufactures X-ACT electroluminescent films in standard formats (DIN A2 to A5) as well as in custom sizes and shapes, EL light strips, 7-segment displays and the stretchable luminous fabric X-TENSE, in which the EL lamp is printed directly onto textiles. Production is carried out using the screen printing process, with screens also manufactured in-house; the films are cut with a laser cutter. The EL panels are laminated with protective laminates ranging from rigid to elastic and equipped with silver-plated copper bands or gold-plated flex circuit boards including soldered wires and plug connectors. In addition, XTRA Dynamics offers three-dimensional painting of surfaces with EL luminous paint as well as reverse engineering of EL films from unknown manufacturers. Customers come, among others, from the automotive and motorsport sectors (including start number lighting for the 24h Le Mans, FIA WEC and IMSA), aerospace, consumer electronics, architecture and stage technology. Production takes place at the Heilbronn site.
